Green Car, Green Environment

A hybrid car is quite similar to a gasoline-powered car except that, in this case, there are two or more sources of power (unlike regular cars which have one common power source - gasoline or diesel). In a hybrid car, one source of power is generally gasoline, whereas the other power sources could be any of the following:
  • Solar energy
  • Pressurized or compressed air
  • Electric batteries
  • Fuel cells
  • Liquid petroleum gas (LPG)
  • Liquified nitrogen
  • Hydrogen
  • Alternative fuels and biofuels
  • Wind energy
  • Manpower

ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). Water pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.

Water pollution affects plants and organisms living in these bodies of water. In almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and populations, but also to the natural biological communities.
